Things To Know About Abuse

Abuse can be defined in different ways; Abuse can be a forceful control over one's authority, or a corrupt practice.
Abuse can occur or happen to anyone of any age and gender, it can also happen to animals.
Most people see abuse or violence as just being physical, whereas it takes different shape. It can take the form of Emotional Bullying, Physical Contact, Sexual Abuse, Psychological Coersion or Neglect.
Most parents abuse their children without even realising it.
There are different types of abuse, but we shall discuss 6.

 PHYSICAL CONTACT:

slapping, pushing, grabbing, hitting, kicking, punching, pulling, biting, throwing objects,                      withholding necessary medications, blocking a doorway, threatening to kill, strangling, stabbing, murder.

PSYCHOLOGICAL/EMOTIONAL/VERBAL

It involves controlling, name calling, spying, false accusation, verbal threats, yelling, manipulating,   degrading, finding fault, disbelieve, insults, threatening, not respecting one's feelings, being jealous, neglecting.

 SEXUAL ABUSE
Unwanted sexual contact, being rough, vulgar comments, knowingly transmitting sexual diseases, criticizing her sexual ability, treating her as a sex object, pressuring her to watch act or pose for pornographic photos, forcing him/her to have sex with you, forcing her to have sex with others, rape.

RELIGIOUS ABUSE
Using religion to justify dominance, interpreting religion your way, preventing her from attending church.

SOCIAL ABUSE


Ignoring her in public, preventing her from taking a job, failing to pass on messages, choosing friends, dictating her mode of dressing, making a scene in public, not giving her space or privacy, not allowing her access her family, being rude to her family.

SOCIAL ABUSE INVOLVING CHILDREN
Assaulting her in front of children, denying her access to the children, abusing her, threatening her to abduct the children.
